Work on the Word Fall 1.1 update is almost complete and so I thought I’d blog about the biggest change to the game: unlockable achievements. I’ve just about wrapped up work on a whole slew of tricky challenges and goals that will earn you points for your OpenFeint profile. I think it will be quite some time until some of these are completed!

I’m aiming to submit the update to Apple over the weekend, so it should be available to download within the next week or two.

Here’s the list…

Flawless – Complete a round without forming any invalid words. (5 points)

Perfectly Certain – Complete a round without forming any invalid words and without having erased any words. (5 points)

Break A Dozen – Spell a word that is at least 12 letters long. (5 points)

Millionaire – Earn 1,000,000 points in one round (excluding Survival Mode). (5 points)

Deca-Millionaire – Earn 10,000,000 points in one round (excluding Survival Mode). (25 points)

Double-Deca-Millionaire – Earn 20,000,000 points in one round (excluding Survival Mode). (50 points)

A Ridiculous Number Of Points – Earn 100,000,000 points in one round. (100 points)

Hot Streak – Earn a bonus multiplier of over 25. (25 points)

On Fire – Earn a bonus multiplier of over 50. (50 points)

Charred – Earn a bonus multiplier of over 75. (75 points)

Extended Play – Play for over 8 minutes in Survival Mode. (25 points)

Long Playing – Play for over 10 minutes in Survival Mode. (50 points)

Survivalism – Play for over 12 minutes in Survival Mode. (75 points)

Alliteration – Finish a round where every word starts with the same letter, having spelled at least 10 different words. (25 points)

A Man, A Plan, A Canal, Panama – Spell 7 different palindromes in one round (words that are spelled the same forward and backward). (25 points)

Downpour – Spell 30 words in one round (excluding Survival Mode). (30 points)

Voracious Vocabulary – Spell 5 different words that are at least 8 letters long, in one round. (50 points)

The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over The Lazy Dog – Finish a round having used every letter of the alphabet in a word at least once. (50 points)

Now I Know My ABC’s – Finish a round having spelled at least one word starting with each letter of the alphabet. (100 points)

There are also an additional seven secret achievements — you won’t know what they are until you’ve managed to unlock them!
